A two‑hour assessment for people aged 65 and over. We look at physical and mental health and areas that matter as you get older, such as mobility.

Height, weight and waist measurements
We’ll check your BMI and body fat percentage to see if you’re under or overweight.
Basal metabolic rate
We’ll look into how your body breaks down the energy you take in.
Estimated energy requirements
The average dietary intake to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Mental health review
We’ll discuss your wellbeing and see how you’re dealing with stresses or anxiety.
Sleep review
We’ll ask how you’ve been sleeping and see what’s causing poor resting patterns.
Mobility and flexibility
We’ll check how you move with some easy stretching exercises.
10-year heart disease risk
We’ll look into your heart health and your risk of cardiovascular disease.
Blood pressure
We’ll check both arms to see if your blood pressure is ok.
10-year diabetes risk
We’ll look at your risk of Type 2 Diabetes, taking your current health into account.
Blood sugar levels
See the amount of glucose in your blood, or how well your diabetes is being managed.
Comprehensive cholesterol profile
Our blood tests will see if you have high cholesterol.
Haemoglobin levels
We’ll look at the amount of haemoglobin in your blood, which is a sign of anaemia.
Lung age
If you’re a smoker or you’ve given up recently.
Heart rhythm screening
Looking at your heartbeat could tell us if you’re at risk of any heart issues.
Prostate, testicular and breast cancer screening
Your doctor will check for early signs of cancer.
Urine and stool tests
Specific for Mature Health, we’ll look for signs of any issues in your urine or stool.
Musculoskeletal assessment
We'll see how well you move with different mobility checks
depending on your level of activity.
Your doctor may recommend these tests
Some tests are clinically indicated, which means doctors may recommend them if you meet certain conditions.
Full blood count
We’ll look at the levels of different cells in your blood, which can help detect a variety of conditions.
Kidney, liver and thyroid function tests
Depending on your earlier test results, your doctor may want to take a closer look into how these organs are performing.
Vitamin D, Coeliac, Ferritin, B12, Folate
We’ll also check levels of these vitamins and proteins to give you a picture of any potential health risks.
Resting heart activity (ECG)
We’ll check electrical signals from your heart to look for potential problems.
Prostate Specific Antigen blood test (PSA)
If you’re over 50, we can help detect problems with your prostate. You may also get this if you’re over 45 based on factors such as family history or ethnicity. Your doctor will discuss this with you.
Cervical cancer screening
For those over 25, we can look for early signs of cervical cancer.
Bowel cancer screening
Recommended for over 45s, we can carry out a qFIT stool test for any bowel cancer symptoms.
How does a Mature Health assessment work?
1. Book your assessment
When you’re ready, book a slot online.

2. Answer a few health questions
Before your appointment, we’ll ask you to complete two short questionnaires in the My Bupa app – one about your health and lifestyle, and one about your mental wellbeing.
This helps us tailor the assessment to you.
3. Attend your appointment
We’ll take you through the checks included in your assessment.
We’ll then review your results together, and discuss any next steps.
4. Receive your results
After your assessment, you’ll receive a detailed health report in My Bupa.
Most results are ready on the day. Anything we need to send to the lab will follow within two weeks.
5. Continued support for a year
